They contain the right amount of stiffness and tack to hold fine detail yet spread evenly on the block or plate. 10 Colours in 175ml jars.
Portland Intense Black: is a deep rich black with a cool undertone
To reduce the stiffness and tack you can use the following modifiers:
Burnt Plate Oils
Used to lower the viscosity of the ink. Burnt Plate Oil should be added to inks sparingly, as the detail of a print may be lost if the ink becomes too fluid.
Burnt Plate Oil #000 a couple of drops into relief ink reduces tack and is a good match for use with all Gamblin Relief Inks. dries faster
Gel Press™ plates are NOT “gelatin”. They are way better!
With Gel Press™ plates, you get all of the benefits of ‘gelatin’ printing - but none of the downsides!
Gel Press is super durable and reusable because, unlike ‘homemade’ gel
- Gel Press plates can be stored at room temperature. And it’s easy to clean! It’s printmaking without the mess!
The ultra-sensitive surface requires just a small amount of paint and then ‘grabs’ the tiniest details; such as the veins of a leaf or the delicate wisps of feathers and ‘holds’ them in the gel.
