Natural Sandstone is great for sculpture as it is easy to work with and resistant to weathering. Much heavier than hebel but smoother. Suitable for senior students and adults.

. Best carved with files and rasps and sand papers etc.
. Any vigorous hammering, drilling or chiseling may crack the stone.
. Sandstone is full of moisture which dries out over time.
. It has a lovely smooth finish when sanded.
. Always wear a mask and safety glasses when carving.
