Shiva Oil Paint Sticks

Oilsticks are highly pigmented solid oil colour, designed for direct application on all traditional surfaces and compatible with conventional oil paints.
The wax in the oil stick allows the artist to draw or paint directly onto a surface without brushes, mediums or solvents.
The oil sticks have a rich buttery consistency.
To use:
- Apply as a drawn mark
- Use for underpainting or fist sketch
- Use brushes, solvents and rags to manipulate colour.
- Dip into mediums for thinning before application
- can be worked with palette knives
- use on canvas, paper, masonite, metal, sculpture
- can be varnished when dry with Retouch Varnish applied very gently
- do not use a solvent based varnish as it dissolves the wax

The sticks are a cross between a traditional oil paint in a tube and an oil pastel. They can be used on any oil painting surface such as canvas panels, stretched canvases or oil sketch paper. The paint can be manipulated with any of the oil painting mediums.
